Through the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park

Difficulty: middle Length: 15.6 km Duration: 5:00 h Altitude meters: 820 hm

The tour can be reached by train and bus. There are various places to stop for refreshments and the tour offers beautiful views. The route leads through the mysterious Fanes. The Fanes is a mystical mountain region that is shrouded in numerous legends and myths. If you let your imagination run wild, you can discover sculpture-like figures and locations from the legendary worlds time and again. For example, the "Marmot Parliament" in Kleinfanes, an impressive limestone amphitheatre, and the "King of Fanes", whose petrified form reveals human features. If you still have time, you can visit the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Nature Park House in San Vigilio.

Route: From the Pederü refuge on trail no. 7 past Lake Piciodel then on to the Fanes refuge. From the refuge, take trail no. 11 up to the Limo Pass and on to Lake Limo. Take the easy descent to the Großfanes hut. Stay on trail no. 11 and follow a flat road to Ju dal'Ega and over the Col de Loćia. Descend steeply to the Capanna Alpina and then continue along path no. 11 until you reach the main road, where the bus stop is located near the "Sas de Dlacia" campsite.
