Route from Schmieden in the Braies Valley to Lake Braies:

The Viktor Wolf Edler von Glanvell trail takes you from Forges in the Braies Valley to Lake Braies. Viktor Wolf Edler von Glanvell was a pioneer of alpinism and a developer of the Braies Dolomites. As you hike along the themed trail, information boards provide insights into his life and work.

This easy hike is also suitable for families and older people. Distance: 4.8 km | Duration: approx. 1.5 hours | Difference in altitude: 270 meters

 

Route from Monguelfo/Welsberg to Lago di Braies/Pragser Wildsee:

Starting at Monguelfo/Welsberg train station, route no. 2 A takes you through meadows to Schmieden in Valle di Braies/Pragser Tal. From there, continue on route no. 1, the Viktor Wolf Edler von Glanvell themed trail, to Lake Braies. Along the way, information boards provide insights into the life and work of this pioneer of alpinism and important developer of the Braies Dolomites.

This easy hike is suitable for families. Distance: 12.5 km | Duration: approx. 3 hours | Difference in altitude: 400 meters

 

Route from Villabassa/Niederdorf to Lago di Braies/Pragser Wildsee:

Starting at Villabassa/Niederdorf railroad station, route no. 1 takes you past farms via Lärcha to Schmieden in Valle di Braies/Pragser Tal. From there, continue on route no. 1, the Viktor Wolf Edler von Glanvell themed trail, to Lake Braies. Along the way, information boards provide insights into the life and work of this pioneer of alpinism and important developer of the Braies Dolomites.

Distance: 11 km | Duration: approx. 3 hours
